How can I Transfer my I-20?

The first step is to connect with one of our student advisors. Once you provide the necessary documentation and confirm that your SEVIS status is active, Kaplan will issue you a Letter of Acceptance. You can then present this letter to your current school to initiate the transfer process.

When can I start the process?

All transfer students must begin their course on the first available Monday following the completion of their transfer.

What documents do I need to transfer my I-20?

Kaplan requires the following documents to process your transfer application:

  • Kaplan Enrollment Form
  • Kaplan International Transfer Form
  • Copy of your passport
  • Copy of your visa
  • Copy of your current I-94
  • Bank statement showing sufficient funds
  • Full payment of your program

Can I transfer my I-20 and study online?

No, online studies are not eligible for an I-20 issued by Kaplan International.

Can I transfer my I-20 if it has been terminated?

No. If your I-20 has been terminated, you are required to leave the country immediately. You can either return with a new I-20 or apply for reinstatement. Please contact an advisor to explore your options in this situation.
